Here’s a nice comment left by a nice missionary from Chili who will solve a big deal of headaches even to this day as we brace for a new release of WTLIB 2011; We all hope that this new release will be compatible with Mac.

So the Watchtower Library 2012 is finally out, but still no Mac support. Fortunately, there is a loving Brother who made a way to install the Watchtower Library on Macs! However the process is somewhat confusing, below are links to my tutorial and to his website. 1) Install Disk Image 1.3 and drag the WTLib icon over to 'Applications'. Then follow this procedure. (Should be under the article entitled: Does it run on Lion OS X?) 2) After step 1 is complete: Insert your Watchtower Library 2010 CD and it should start installing normally. Don't change any of the default entries including the installation path. Step-by-step guide to installing Watchtower Library for Mac on an Intel-based Mac computer. Download the software at n. Watchtower Library Now Available for Download Watchtower Library can now be downloaded from jw.org to run on Windows computers. Learn how to download Watchtower Library to your computer. STEP 3: Mount the ISO image of the Watchtower Library. The download button on jw.org will download a large file about 2 GB that will be named something like lyE.iso.This is an image file of the DVD so you will need to mount it on your Mac so that it can see the install files.

Those steps are relevant to Lion OS only although many have commented that they couldn’t find the famous rs_data folder because in some cases it coul be hidden as brother Jack mentioned.

My apology for not being consistent lately for the upkeep of our blog because of priorities that has to be taking care of first.

Nice to meet you online. My wife and I graduated from the 67th class of Gilead and served in Chile until our son came along. My wife is pioneering and I work for a software company named Oracle.

I just bought a MacBook Air for my wife, principally for using the Watchtower Library (and because I am not a fan of Windows). The machine came with Lion OS. So I struggled to get the Watchtower 2010 CD installed using the overwriting of rs_data after installing the 2009 CD. For one thing, as you may know, Lion hides the Library folder. You have to use the Terminal and run the chflags command. But I discovered that the rs_data folder was down a different path. This may be due to Lion or because I installed the 2009 CD a couple of times trying to find the rs_data folder. But here is the path that finally worked for me:

1) Library [IMPORTANT: THIS IS THE LIBRARY LOCATED UNDER THE USER HOME ICON ]
2) Application Support
3) Crossover
4) Bottles
5) WTLIB09E
6) drive_c
7) Program Files Watchtower
9) Watchtower Library 2009
10 ) E [THIS IS THE LETTER OF THE LANGUAGE WT CD ROM. For example it could be F for French, S for Spanish etc..]

   After an hour of tinkering, I just was able to get 2011 installed.
   This is for OS 10.6.
   Install Watchtower Library for MAC 2.0
   Follow instructions to Install watchtower library for windows 2010.
   Next we want to replace the rs_data. This can be found in a package file in User, Library, Application Support, Watchtower Library for MAC, then “show package contents of the file in that folder. It was “Sculptural Frailty” for me. You will find the rs_data in Wine files, drive_c, Watchtower, Watchtower Library 201, E. DELETE OR RENAME THE CURRENT RS_DATA FODER. Then copy the rs_data from the 2011 CD. (close WTLB 1st)

   This worked for me to get the 2011 data. 🙂
